Belotero Soft is a sterile, non-pyrogenic, viscoelastic, colorless, transparent gel of non-animal origin. The gel is made of cross-linked sodium hyaluronate in a physiological phosphate buffer, and will over time undergo slow resorption thanks to a better resistance to degradation. It is an injectable resorbable filler indicated to increase the volume of skin tissue. This filler enables filling fine lines (2.g. Perioral and forehead lines, crow’s feet, lip commisures) and correcting scars.Belotero Soft integrate seamlessly into the skin, allowing for immediate and smooth correction of fine to deep lines and offering a voluminising effect to crow’s feet and perioral lines
Superficial wrinkles and fine lines call for a smooth dermal filler with a low concentration of hyaluronic acid to give the smoothest, most natural-looking results. Although the hyaluronic acid naturally found in the skin tends to break down quickly, Belotero Soft is designed to last longer. It is created with Cohesive Polydensified Matrix (CPM) technology to make it mono-phasic and give it a high elasticity. It is this mono phase structure and its high elasticity that allows it to integrate with the skin smoothly, correcting wrinkles without making it obvious which areas of the skin were treated and which were not. The structure of the Belotero Soft gel also makes it less likely to give a blue tinge to the skin, with no particles to reflect light, and less likely to have lumps. This makes Belotero Soft a preferred choice for many cosmetic surgeons and their patients.
Of the three major types of Belotero products, which are Soft, Balance, and Intense, Belotero Soft has the lowest concentration of hyaluronic acid, at 20 mg/ml of non-animal hyaluronic acid (NaHA). This makes it the best choice for injecting into the upper dermis to treat shallow areas of skin. You can use Belotero Soft to correct superficial wrinkles and fine lines like forehead wrinkles, frown lines between the eyebrows, perioral wrinkles or smoker’s lines around the mouth, lip commissures at the corners of the mouth, the vermillion border between the lips and face, and crow’s feet which are periorbital lines around the eyes, as well as fine lines on the cheeks or other areas of the face. Results are immediate and usually last for about six to nine months for most patients.
Like any injection of hyaluronic acid dermal filler, Belotero Soft could cause some side effects such as tenderness, pain, itching, slight swelling, bruising, and redness at the injection site. However, these side effects should resolve on their own within a couple of days after the Belotero Soft injections. Hyaluronic acid is normally found within the skin but gets replenished less efficiently with age, leading to dryness and the formation of fine lines and superficial wrinkles. Injecting Belotero Soft into the upper dermis replenishes the natural hyaluronic acid in the skin, rehydrating the skin as well as adding slight volume to give the skin a smoother appearance. With a reduction in the appearance of lines and wrinkles on the skin, your patient gets a younger look that can be maintained with regular injections of Belotero Soft or other dermal fillers. Belotero claims its products give a more natural look with a smoother transition between the areas you treated and the areas that were not treated.
